Getting Involved
Abertay Residents Organisation
If you do not want to join any of the existing residents’ groups or there is no resident group in your area, you can become involved through ARO (Abertay Residents Organisation). Our group of interested tenants and owners meet with Abertay staff on a monthly basis to discuss a range of issues such as reviewing policies, helping to arrange the Residents Conference and contributing articles to the Newsletters.

Being “involved” should only take up a couple of hours of your time each month and you will have the chance to meet other residents with similar concerns or ideas. You can come along to any of the meetings as an observer to find out more before deciding to commit to our group.

If you would like more information about ARO, please contact Claire Ramsay (Secretary) tel. 01382 400673 or Melanie Martin  tel. 01382 513812 or email melanie.martin@abertayha.co.uk

Becoming a Shareholder..
Commitment to tenants includes ensuring that tenants (and owners) are involved in the Association’s decision making. As such, we actively encourage all tenants and owners to become Shareholders in the Association which give them an opportunity to attend, and if required, vote at our Annual General Meetings. Being a member also allows shareholders to elect or be elected onto our Committee of Management and have a real say in the running of the Association.

Membership costs just £1 and is open to any tenant or owner. Anyone interested, or who would like more information, should speak to their Housing Officer or alternatively, contact Elaine Moyes at Abertay’s main office.

Becoming a Tenant Group Member
Additionally, all tenants are welcome (regardless of whether or not they decide to become a shareholder) to join their local tenants groups and have a say in what goes on in their area. For more information on the Groups, please contact your local Housing Officer.

We look forward to welcoming you.
