Abertay is delighted that our first development outside Dundee is progressing well on site.
The 16 new one bed amenity homes fill a much needed demand in Forfar.
The development was officially opened by Kevin Stewart, MSP, on 9 August, with tenants moving in during the following weeks.
The houses have been considerately designed to take account of the proximity to the historic town centre, which provide our tenants with shops and other facilities on their doorsteps.
The four in a block style amenity flats are for people aged 50 years or older. They were completed in August 2018. The development consists of 16 x 1 bedroom properties each with a spacious living room and open plan kitchen. The ground floor properties have been designed for people with poor mobility as they have level access and include level access showers and raised sockets etc. Two of the ground floor properties have additional adaptions for wheelchair users.
The 8 upper flats have showers over a low level bath rather than a level access shower.
We seek nominations for these properties from Angus Council from their waiting list. If you are interested in applying then you should complete a housing application form with Angus Council. Should you have a current housing application form in already then you only need to make sure you have the area and size / type on your application.
Abertay allocate these homes to those that meet the age criteria and have the highest level of need (points awarded) from the nominations list provided by Angus Council.
