Abertay is an associate member of EVH and uses EVH’s terms and conditions and HR Policies as the basis for our policies. Staff management is the responsibility of managers within the organisation. The Board is available to consider issues where required.

Abertay’s staff are autoenrolled into a defined contribution scheme administered by The People’s Pension. Staff can choose their contribution rate from 3% upwards. The Association’s contribution rate is double the employee’s rate, subject to a maximum of 10%.
Staff who joined the pension scheme before autumn 2021 are members of the Tayside Pension Fund, which is part of the Local Government Pension Scheme. This is a defined benefit scheme administered by Dundee City Council. The fund provides benefits based on final pensionable salary to 31 March 2015. Thereafter, benefits are based on a career average basis.
All staff are free to become members of an appropriate trade union. A number of staff are members of Unite.
